Refrigerated Warehouse Services Built for Central Valley Agriculture
Central Valley Cold Storage operates a 254,000 square foot refrigerated warehouse at Madera Airport Industrial Park — purpose-built for the San Joaquin Valley’s nut growers, produce handlers, and agricultural logistics operations. Five independently controlled bays allow simultaneous storage of multiple commodities at different temperature and humidity profiles without cross-contamination.
Facility Specifications
Our refrigerated warehouse was designed from the ground up for agricultural cold chain integrity. Five independently controlled storage bays span 254,000 total square feet with temperature ranges from sub-zero to 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Each bay maintains independent humidity control from 60% to 95%+ RH depending on commodity requirements. The entire facility operates on a 100% off-grid solar microgrid with battery backup, eliminating dependency on PG&E and providing uninterrupted refrigeration during grid outages, PSPS events, and peak pricing periods.
Commodities We Store
Our refrigerated warehouse serves the full spectrum of Central Valley agricultural production. Tree nuts including almonds, pistachios, and walnuts are stored at 32-36 degrees F with 65-70% humidity for maximum shelf life and aflatoxin prevention. Fresh produce including stone fruit, citrus, table grapes, berries, and pomegranates require higher humidity environments with ethylene management. Organic products maintain CCOF chain of custody documentation throughout storage. Frozen and value-added products use our sub-zero bays for nut butters, processed goods, and export-ready commodities. International commodities benefit from our title transfer in-situ capability for global trade.
Certifications and Compliance
Our refrigerated warehouse maintains the certifications required for domestic sales, organic markets, and international export. SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification ensures food safety protocols meet global standards. CCOF organic certification maintains chain of custody for organic products. FSMA 204 traceability compliance provides full lot-level documentation from receiving through shipping. USDA APHIS phytosanitary readiness supports export to EU, Asian, and other international markets.
Location Advantage
Madera Airport Industrial Park sits at the geographic center of California’s most productive agricultural region. Highway 99 and Highway 41 access puts our refrigerated warehouse within a 30-minute drive of most Central Valley growing operations — enabling sub-24-hour field-to-cold turnaround that protects product quality and extends shelf life. Our proximity to growing regions significantly reduces drayage costs compared to Fresno, Bakersfield, or Bay Area facilities.
